Laois girl helps Dublin club reach All Ireland final

Laois ladies senior footballer Laura Nerney helped Dublin’s Foxrock-Cabinteely to the All Ireland club final on Sunday afternoon.

Nerney – who is based in Dublin as a doctor – scored a goal from midfield as Foxrock-Cabinteely got the better of Cora Staunton’s Carnacon side on a scoreline of 4-9 to 2-11 in Bray.

Nerney only joined the south Dublin side earlier this year from Portlaoise but is now in line to play in the All Ireland club final against reigning champions Donaghmoyne of Monaghan.

That game is fixed for Parnell Park on Sunday, December 4.
