Red carpet, champagne on arrival and ladies in little black dresses. The Pub in Mountrath will have glamour like never before this Friday night, February 10, when a local club host their Little Black Dress fundraiser event.
The event is in aid of the Mountrath Ladies Football Club and Deirdre Phelan, club treasurer, is one of the main organisers.
“We only set up the club in 2012 and we field teams from U-12 to U-16,” she explained. “But we also started the Gaelic for Mothers and Others and that has been very popular. A lot of the mammies are bringing their children to play and are now getting involved themselves too.
“We’ve people coming from Camross, Castletown and Trumera as well as Mountrath and the night on Friday is a fundraiser and a night out for the adults in the club.”
Tickets are €10 – or €15 if accompanied by a partner – and there are a number of top prizes on offer on the night, including a meal at the nearby exclusive Ballyfin Demesne.
Other prizes include a GHD curling wand sponsored by Heads Up Hair Salon, Afternoon Tea in Kelly Lou’s, meal vouchers in the Grove Restaurant and Stir Restaurants and vouchers for Telford’s and Frankie’s Hairdressers.
Getting underway at 9pm, it promises to be a great night!
