The Laois Rose of Tralee will take place next month and LaoisToday are planning their coverage of the event for the first time.

The Laois selection night will take place on Sunday, April 30, in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel and will be the 14th staging of a dedicated Laois Rose event.

For the first time, it will have a digital media presence and Steven Miller, owner and managing editor, of LaoisToday.ie says they are delighted to be able to be on board.

“The Laois Rose of Tralee selection night has firmly established itself as an excellent event on the Laois social calendar and we’re thrilled to be able to cover the event.

“We look forward to providing a new and exciting style of coverage of the Laois Rose on LaoisToday.ie and across our various social media platforms.

“As a county we have sent forward some wonderful ambassadors as Laois Rose and we know it will be no different this year. We can’t wait to cover the build up, the night itself and follow the progress of the Laois Rose all the way to the Dome in Tralee.”

While Portlaoise previously hosted the regional selection night in June, now all the Rose winners from around the country go to Tralee in August.

Laois co ordinator, Lyn Moloney commented: “It is fantastic to have a digital media presence with LaoisToday and we are looking forward to the extensive coverage and awareness that LaoisToday will provide.

“We are inviting every young woman in Laois to join us for a fun-filled experience that could lead to being selected International Rose of Tralee and feel that LaoisToday will enable us to target potential applicants across their various social media platforms.”

Steve Cronly Commercial Manager of the Rose of Tralee International Festival added: “This year we will be targeting Rose applicants from the entire county of Laois and confident that LaoisToday will be a fantastic addition and a great partnership in ensuring awareness and following the Rose journey to all applicants in their quest to be Laois Rose 2017.

Businesses and community groups can put forward a contestant and the name of the sponsor will be on the sash of their Laois Rose entrant.

The fee for entering is €250 and anyone interested in taking part can apply on www.roseoftralee.ie/apply or contact Laois Rose co-ordinator Lyn Moloney on 083 4631611 or email laoisroseoftralee@gmail.com.
