They’re early risers in Vicarstown and Fr Sean Kelly boasted from the alter of 9.30am mass, that the parade was one of the earliest in the entire country.

Gathering at 9am, mass goers paraded from the canal bridge in the picturesque village to the nearby church.

With the theme of all the parades in the Stradbally parish celebrating the role of the GAA club in the local community, the parade was led by the Annanough U-12 team complete their U-12 trophy won in last year’s championship.

The Grainne Buggie school of dancers also performed in the mass and afterwards in the community hall where refreshments were served.

‘St Patrick’ in Vicarstown once again was the outstanding community man Joe Oakley.

Thanks to Andrew Murray for these brilliant photos.
