The organisers of a major fundraiser event for Rosenallis GAA club have said it was a “massive success”.
Up to 400 people attended the Rosenallis GAA club Lip Sync Battle at the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel on Saturday night.
The Blues Brothers – brothers Micheal and Pauric Clear – took home the trophy as they were crowned the winners of the night for an outstanding performance of “Everybody needs somebody”.
There was a great atmosphere at the sold out event, with 11 acts taking part.
A comedy aspect took place from the acts involved of the event as they performed the Haka before the show commenced.
Each act was sponsored by local businesses and a total of 10 fundraisers were also organised in the last two months helping to raise almost €20,000 plus it is believed that a similar figure again was raised on the night itself.
All the funds raised go towards Rosenallis’s new juvenile playing pitches.
