Gardaí are appealing for information after two people were attacked outside their home in Portarlington by three men wielding knives and baseball bats.
The incident took place at Glen Estate at Kilnacourt Woods, Portarlington on Sunday April 16 around 2am.
The householders were confronted by the assailants outside of the house and sustained minor injuries during the ordeal – including cuts and bruises to their hands.
There was also damage caused to two vehicles and to the house itself.
The injured people were brought to the Midlands Hospital Portlaoise where they were later discharged.
There is no apparent motive for the attack at present but Gardaí are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time to contact Portlaoise Garda Station at 057 86 74100.
