Bibi Baskin to speak at the relaunch of Network Ireland Laois branch

An open evening for the re-establishment of the Laois branch of Network Ireland will be held next Tuesday, May 30, at 6pm in the Heritage Hotel in Killenard.

After a huge amount of interest, hard work and encouragement from so many Laois business women it has been decided to reopen the branch. And what better way than with a workshop entitled ‘Your Future Wealth. It’s not all about the money’.

Network Ireland is a progressive, dynamic organisation supporting the professional and personal development of women. Throughout the 12 nationwide branches of Network Ireland membership is made up of a very diverse group of women, from budding entrepreneurs, SME owners, professionals and leaders in indigenous and multinational organisations to non-profits, charities, arts and the public sector.

As a voluntary organisation Network Ireland has many aims and objectives to promote women in business including providing a forum where professional women can exchange ideas and increase business contacts, encouraging women to achieve more satisfying careers and to market the skills and expertise of Network members. These are achieved through their monthly events, national conferences, new Mentorship Programme and through their Awards Programme.

Anyone who is interested in discovering what Network Ireland has to offer is encouraged to come along to this free event.  On the night guests will be introduced to Network Ireland and how the organisation can support, inspire and champion you and your business  or career through the new Laois Branch.

Bib Baskin is a renowned broadcaster and journalist who has worked on both radio and TV in Ireland and the UK. She became a hotelier after a short visit to India – which turned into a 15-year love affair with the country. She recently returned to Ireland where she still makes media appearances, and writes articles and blogs.

Speaking about the event, Bibi said: “I want to talk to people about setting their fear aside to make those changes they need in order to make them happy. For instance, if you are not happy with your job today, change it, if you are not happy with your house or your apartment today, change it. If you are not happy in the town you are in, change it. Once you have made the decision to change, all those obstacles that are there, just disappear. And if you are going to make that change, don’t delay, life is too short. In my experience, it’s not all about the money.”

Stradbally entrepreneur Maryrose Simpson, owner of myladybug.ie, is helping to relaunch the Laois branch of Network Ireland

Rebecca Harrison, President of Network Ireland added; “I am thrilled to see the reopening of the Laois branch of Network Ireland. It is great to see such interest from business women in Laois and to see the organization growing.

Network Ireland is a fantastic support structure for all women in business across Ireland and with the addition of the Laois branch it will certainly add to this. Each network offers support, mentoring and confidence building for women, in particular those starting in business or returning to the workplace”.
