There's plenty of action in the hurling championships this weekend

It’s set to be an action-packed weekend in Laois as the senior camogie and intermediate and senior hurling finals take place. There’s also plenty happening in arts, music and family fun too.

Friday 22 September
  • There is a host of wonderful events taking place tonight for Laois Culture Night. You can find out more about all the events on here.
  • The Harps play Rathdowney Errill in the Laois JHC semi-final in the Laois GAA Training Centre at 7pm.

Saturday 23 September
  • In the Intermediate semi-finals, Trumera play Clonad in Durrow at 4pm while Rathdowney-Erill go up against Clough-Ballacolla in Durrow at 5.30pm.
  • In the other JHC semi-final, Ballypickas take on Castletown in Colt at 5.30pm.

Stradbally Steam Train is up and running this weekend
Sunday 24 September
  • Theres a family walk taking place at St Paul’s Church, Emo at 3pm.
  • Stradbally Steam Train will be up and running today from 12pm to 4pm at Stradbally Hall.
  • In the first of our finals today, Castletown Slieve-Bloom play Camross in the U-17 HC final in O’Moore Park at 12.15pm.
  • Colt Gaels and Ballyfin Gaels go head-to-head at the same venue at 2pm.
Colt Gaels and Ballyfin Gaels will battle again this Sunday.

  • The Senior final clash between Clough-Ballacolla and Camross is on in O’Moore Park at 4pm.
  • Birdwatch Ireland are going on a Wildlife Walk at Abbeyleix Bog. It will begin from the Manor Hotel car park at 9.30am.
  • The Emo 100km/50km/family cycle will start and finish at the Old School, Emo.The 100km begins at 10.30am. The 50km begins at 11.30am and the fmaily cycle begins at 11.45am. Entry for the 100km and 50km is €20 and the family cycle is €10 for families, €5 for adults and €3 for kids.
  • Emo Kitty Kats are holding a car boot and craft sale for the Emo GAA Lip Sync fundraiser from 11am to 4pm at Emo GAA grounds.
