Portarlington Library re-opened this time last year to celebrate it is having a 1st birthday this Friday.
They are holding a puppet show from 3-4pm in the library which is sure to be a popular event given that schools will be off on mid-term.
The library say that there is no need to book – just go along and enjoy the fun.
Portarlington Library also organise a number of book club events every month. They have two junior book clubs which meet on the second Wednesday of every month. The 8-10 year olds meet from 3.45pm to 4.15pm with the 10-12 age group meeting from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
Classic Book Club
There is also a Classics Book Club which will meet again on Wednesday, March 1, at 11am. They will be discussing the ‘Old Man and the Sea’ by Ernest Hemmingway.
