A huge selection of tractors of all shapes and sizes are expected to be in the Clonenagh NS Tractor Run in Coolrain on Friday

Portlaoise Macra na Feirme held a tractor run on Easter Monday in aid of Pieta House.

It proved to be a huge success with almost 70 tractors taking part.

There were representatives from vintage clubs from around the county, Macra club members, local agricultural contractors, and local farmers.

Before the run commenced Portlaoise Macra chairperson Andrew Kelly thanked all who made the effort to take part in the run for such a worthy cause, and also thanked all who were involved in making the run a success.

The run began at The Rock Inn Dublin road and from there, travelled to Ratheniska onto Grange, and into Portlaoise town and finished once again at The Rock Inn – covering approximately 25km.

Portlaoise Macra Club members intend to present the cheque of funds raised to Pieta House at the Darkness into Light event which will take place in Mountmellick on May 6th.
