The Portarlington Lions Club were honoured by Laois County Council last week for their ongoing community and charity work.
President of the club, Gerry Dunne, accepted the honour on behalf of the club and tributes were paid to them by Cathaoirleach Tom Mulhall and other local councillors.
The club run a range of fundraising activities throughout the year.
