Laois booked their place in Round 2 of the All Ireland Qualifiers on Saturday evening as they got the better of Wicklow in Aughrim – so attention now turns to who they’ll play in the next round.
The draw will be made on the Morning Ireland programme on RTE Radio 1 at 8.35am on Monday.
Laois are on the ‘A’ side of the Qualifier draw (it has nothing to do with standard – it’s a predetermined thing to bring more certainty to the fixtures) and will play one of the beaten ‘A’ provincial semi-finalists
Their potential opponents are Clare, Meath, Mayo and the losers of Donegal and Tyrone. So as you can see there’s a couple of humdingers in it.
Laois are joined in their section of the draw by Derry, Sligo and Longford and a draw will also be made to determine who has home advantage in each game.
Laois’s next game will be on Saturday week, July 1, which is also potentially the same date that the Laois hurlers will be in action should they get the better of Carlow next Sunday.
