Jobs boost for Portarlington following hotel re-opening

The East End Hotel is officially re-opening in Portarlington tomorrow.

12 new jobs will be created in the town as the hotel is relaunched under new management this weekend.

A statement on their Facebook page said: “We are officially opening at 9am Friday 23rd of June.

“Hot food will be served 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm daily. We will be doing lunch specials from 12am to 3pm Monday to Friday.

“The Hotel bar will also be open under regular trading hours.
There will also be live music-bands in the Hotel Bar every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.”

Deirdre and Padraig Houlihan will be running the family friendly hotel which is opening just in time for the busy summer season.

Speaking to Midlands 103, Head Chef, Ruth Stack, says they’ll have a full complement of staff from this weekend.

She said: “We are re-opening the doors at 9am and we are more than ready for what the summer season is going to bring.

“We have 12 members of staff working with us: three chefs, two kitchen porters, waiters, waitresses and bar staff.

“We are going to be having live music music at the weekend and we are going to be having traditional music.

“We just can’t wait to see everyone and get started.”
