Abbeyleix rolled out the red carpet for the Entente Florale judges from across Europe today.
As well as seeing the many sights of note in the town, including Abbeyleix Heritage House and Dove House, the judges got to sample the best of local produce.
From G’s Jams to specially made sausages for the occasion from Williams’ butchers, their was much to savour for the judges.
The visitors also got to view GAA in full-flight during the GAA Cúl Camps as well as a display of Poc Fada. The Entente Florale jury chairman Martin Wagner even took an impressive puck himself.
After providing feedback to the local committe, the jury will attend a banquet in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel.
Spink Comhaltas will perform after the drinks reception while local world champion Irish dancer Shauna Tierney will also entertain them afterwards.
