LaoisToday.ie went live on February 7 this year and has been warmly received by the Laois community at home and abroad.
Owned by Steven Miller, Alan Hartnett was appointed as Digital Media Journalist at the outset and David Power has been with us in a part-time capacity since the start too.
In recent weeks we have brought in two more new recruits. Siun Lennon from Rosenallis, who is a final year Journalism student in UL, has joined us for the summer months while Julie Anne Miller, who has been working with us at the weekends from the early days, is now on board for the rest of the year.
Siun will be generating news, sport and feature pieces while also contributing to our social media accounts with Julie Anne combining photography, administrative and social media duties.

LaoisToday is the only locally-owned media outlet in Laois and has already become the go-to source of local information for the county’s population. We are the top local media outlet on social media with a strong presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
We will be launching apps for Android and iOS devices in the coming months and also have a number of other exciting initiatives coming on stream before the end of 2017.
