Rathdowney war hero will be remembered at historical re-enactment

Re-enactment of a battle

Bob’s Bar Durrow and Durrow High Nelly Club are hosting a re-enactment of the Third Battle of Ypres on Sunday 20 August.

During this historic WW1 battle, Sgt Jack Moyney of Rathdowney won a Victoria Cross, the highest award for bravery of the British Army.

The event will take place at Bob’s Bar Durrow with over 20 professional re-enactment actors performing.

A High Nelly Rally wil also take place on the day at 3pm.

There are three ticket levels for the event. VIP viewing is €10, the bar viewing area is €8 and bridge viewing is €5.
