Portlaoise Gardai have appealed to the public for help with their investigation into a theft at bingo in the town last night.
A lone male entered St Marys Hall off the town’s Dublin Road while the bingo was taking place at around 9.45pm on Thursday, August 24.
He then pushed an older lady out of the way and made off with a sum of cash.
No weapons were used during the incident.
Gardai are appealing for assistance from public to solve the crime.
They say the culprit may have been loitering around outside location before the incident took place.
