The Clonaslee Show, which was due to be held this Sunday, has been cancelled due to the bad weather conditions.

And the show organisers have confirmed that it won’t be rescheduled due to the difficulty in finding a suitable date.

“Unfortunately due to inclement weather conditions, and resulting underground conditions we felt on Health and Safety grounds that it is best to cancel the Show for this year,” said the organisers in a statement.

“Sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

This year’s show was due to be the 66th hosting of the popular agricultural show that is held in the Clonaslee Community Grounds.

Very bad weather is predicted for this weekend with Met Eireann forecasting a storm for Sunday.

A number of other events remained scheduled for around the county including a Family Fun Day in Graiguecullen GAA.

The Medley Day in Timahoe, which was postponed a couple of weeks ago because of the bad weather, had been rescheduled for this Sunday but has now been cancelled as a mark of respect to the late Dan Lalor, the well-liked Timahoe man who passed away this week.
