Gardaí investigating latest burglary in Portarlington

Gardaí are investigating a burglary at Kilmalogue Downs in Portarlington, which occurred over earlier this week.

It has still to be determined what was taken during the break-in.

The burglary occurred between 8 pm on Wednesday, October 4  and 7 am on Thursday, October 5.

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious is asked to contact gardaí in Portarlington.

Plough

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway into the theft of a plough from Walsh Island in Offaly.

The plough was part of a Walsh Island Tidy Towns community display.

It is understood that the plough was taken from a green space in the village.

Edenderry gardaí are investigating.

The latest robberies follow two recent house burglaries in Rosenallis earlier this week.

A house at at St Joseph’s terrace Portarlington was burgled earlier in the week also, with cash and jewellery taken during the raid.

In one of these incidents, entry was gained through a rear window, while the front door of the house in Portarlington was broken through.

Earlier in the week there were burglaries in Mountrath and Camross.

In the incident in Mountrath, the house was ransacked and jewellery taken.

Gardaí at Portlaoise are investigating these incidents.
