FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER
  • Stradbally are holding a 3-5k walk for Laois Connects Mental Health Week at 10.00am. All those taking part are to assemble at Court Square, Stradbally.
  • Cullohill are having a 5-7k walk at 7.30pm. Walkers are to assemble at Cullohill Community Centre.
  • Laois Local Enterprise Office are holding their business clinic in Rathdowney Youth Café.

SATURDAY 14 OCTOBER
  • Killeshin are holding a Special Olympics fundraiser in Killeshin Hall from 3pm to 6pm. There will be a raffle, cake stall, glad rags and book stall on the day.
  • Disney’s Moana film will be screened at the Balcony Cinema, Mountemellick at 3pm in aid of Laois Domestic Abuse Service. Seats are €5.
Emo supporters will be heading for another day out on Sunday
SUNDAY 15 OCTOBER
  • Ballyfin Veteran and Vintage Club are holding their annual ploughing match in Iry, Ballyfin at 11am. The day starts off with their first-ever ladies competition followed by the mens’ competition at 2pm.
  • Killeshin are holding a 6.5k walk for Laois Connects Mental Health Week. Those interested are to assemble at Oisin Park, Rossmore, Killeshin at 12.30pm.
  • There’s a huge day of GAA action in O’Moore Park. Emo-Courtwood-The Rock play Stradbally Parish Gaels in the Midlands Park Hotel U-17 final at 1.45pm.
  • While in the SFC final, Ballylinan play Portlaoise in O’Moore Park at 3.45pm.
  • In the U-17 FC ‘B’ final, Clonaslee St Manmans take on Park Ratheniska in Mountmellick at 12 noon.
Ballylinan Primary School will be full of support for their side on Sunday
