WANTED: New managers for Laois camogie teams

Ballinakill hurlers have a new manager

The Laois Camogie County Board are currently looking for managers for their three main teams for the 2018 season.

Applications are being sought for the vacant positions of intermediate, minor and U-16 manager roles with interested candidates urged to put their name forward.

Interested candidates are asked to apply by emailing secretary.laois@camogie.ie for the attention of Olive Cuddy with details of what role they would like to fill, their coaching qualifications, experience and involvement and their reasons for wishing to be appointed.

All applicants must hold or be agreeable to undergo Garda Vetting and Safeguarding Training.

The Laois intermediate camogie team failed to get out of their group in this year’s All Ireland championship but did win the Leinster title and have aspirations for challenging for honours in that grade.

The U-16 team won the All Ireland ‘B’ title in 2017 – the first time the county tasted success in that grade since 2000.

Owen Drennan was the intermediate manager this season but has stepped back from the role due to his committments to the family pub.
