Leaves Festival of Writing and Music

The annual Leaves Festival celebrating writing and music in Laois continues this weekend. For more information on the festival, see here.

Friday 10 November

LaoisToday launch party

Having gone live earlier this year and having established a massive local following, LaoisToday will be officially launched in the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise on Friday night.

The event will also mark the unveiling of LaoisToday apps for iOS and Android devices as well as the launch of the 2017 LaoisToday annual – a high-quality 160-page publication.

Book launch

Darren Conroy will be launching his book, ‘Let Your Life Speak’, which celebrates Laois people, in the Arts Centre in Mountmellick at 8pm. All proceeds will be donated to mental health charity GROW.

Christmas Craft Fair

A Christmas Craft Fair will be held in the Durrow Arms Hotel from 11am to 5.30pm.

Lego event

Abbeyleix Library are hosting a special Lego event with displays and competitions from 2pm to 4pm.

Sunday 12 November

Craft Fair

Emo Art and Craft fair takes place from in the Community Centre 11.30am to 5pm.

Music in Emo 

A newly-commissioned music piece, ‘Thresholds’ will be showcased at Emo Court at 12 noon.

Tuesday 14 November

Laois Community Games AGM Laois Community Games AGM 2017 will take place in the Heath hall (beside the church) on Tuesday November 14th at 7.30pm
