Park-Ratheniska and Timahoe have come together to form the newest hurling amalgamation in the county.
Following recent AGMs in both clubs, they have decided to join up completely for 2018 to establish a new club.
The pair played together at juvenile level this year and that successful partnership has surely led to this.
Park-Ratheniska shared the news of their new amalgamation on Twitter.
They said: “It’s official. Following motions unanimously passed at the Park/Ratheniska and Timahoe AGM’s over the past 24 hours, Park/Ratheniska & Timahoe HURLING will amalgamate at Adult level to form the new Hurling Club, Park/Ratheniska-Timahoe Hurling Club.”
Park-Ratheniska competed at Intermediate level this year where narrow defeats against eventual finalists Trumera and Clonad left them in the relegation decider.
However, Dagger Langton’s men came through that final against Portlaoise.
And, now with the possible addition of the likes of Robbie Foyle, Damien O’Connor, Evan O’Connor, Richie Oxley and more, they could well challenge for the title next year.
