Timahoe lights up for Christmas

There was loads of festive cheer in Timahoe on Saturday evening last as the Christmas lights on the Village green were officially switched on.

A large crowd gathered to watch as the lights lit up the Monastic Village.

Two local boys Jack Hyland and Dave Duggan had the honours, both boys have recently qualified for the National finals of the Intel mini scientits competition.

The large crowd were entertained by the local choir singing festive tunes and everybody was treated to Mulled wine and mince pies in the Corner Shop.

A lovely evening of community togetherness combined with seasons greetings.

Timahoe are the latest community to come together in style for Christmas following events in other towns and villages around the county.

And the picturesque village is well worth checking out in the run up to Christmas.
