Jonathan Tucker declare Ballyfin Gaels as the greatest hurling team in the world

This September, Ballyfin received a visit from Hollywood actor Jonathan Tucker- who made it just in time to celebrate Ballyfin Gaels being crowned Senior A champions.

Tucker later declared that the night in the Deadmans was the best night of drinking he had ever had.

Ballyfin Gaels became Laois’ highest ranked dual club on Sunday and there was a bit of Hollywood dazzle there to help them celebrate afterwards.

Actor Jonathan Tucker turned up in the Deadmans Inn and raised a glass to the new Senior A champions.

The American took to Twitter yesterday where he declared that he had never had a better night drinking.

He said: “I’ve never had a better night of hard drinking.

“Thank you, Deadmans Pub and all our dear friends in Ballyfin.

“No greater hurling team the world has ever seen.”

It is believed that Tucker was staying in Ballyfin House when he heard about the craic that was taking place in the village and decided to join in.

Tucker is best known for his roles in the films The Virgin Suicides (1999), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Hostage (2005), In the Valley of Elah (2007), and The Ruins (2008).

He has appeared in the television series The Black Donnellys (2007) and Parenthood (2011–2013).

As of October 2014, he co-stars in the DirecTV drama series Kingdom created by Byron Balasco.

And now we also know who his favourite hurling team is.
