More extreme weather warnings for Laois

There’s more extreme weather scheduled for Laois with a snow-ice Status Yellow weather warning for tomorrow and Wednesday.

The warning is valid from Tuesday, January 16 at 6am to 3am Wednesday, January 17 at 3am.

Under a Status Yellow warning there can be scattered snow showers up to 3 cm.

Roads and paths will be slippy due to ice on untreated surfaces.

Low temperatures

The warning also covers low temperatures of minus three degrees Celsius or minus four degrees Celsius are expected. Maximum temperatures of one degree Celsius or two degrees Celsius are expected.

The Status Yellow warning is also in place for; Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath and Meath.

Today is set to turn colder as the day progresses. Top temperatures will range from four to eight degrees Celsius with strong and gusty westerly winds.
