Appeal after robbery at Leisure Centre and GAA club in Portarlington

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run

Gardai are appealing for information after a number of robberies in the last couple of days.

On Saturday evening at 11.15pm last, the Leisure Centre in Portarlington was broken into.

The office was ransacked and money and other items were taken.

A short time later, the GAA clubhouse in Portarlington was also broken into.

A small silver car was spotted in the area at the time and Gardai are appealing for anyone who saw anything to come forward.

Crime Prevention Officer Graham Kavanagh says that there may also be a connection between this and the incident in Kevin Scully’s house in Vicarstown yesterday.

He said: “I would appeal for anyone who saw anything to come forward.

“We are particularly interested in the small silver car which has popped up in a number of crimes lately.”
