Permission granted for new petrol station in Portlaoise

A new petrol station has been given the green light in Portlaoise.

The new petrol station will be built in the Midway and will be attached to the existing food court.

Just last week, Applegreen announced that Burger King would be opening a new restaurant in the coming months, which adds to the existing shops and restaurants in the Midway.

Applegreen own the foodcourt complex, and are now expanding with the new filling station. The planning includes a forecourt as well a four fuel pumps and canopy.

Petrogas Group Ltd, who own Applegreen, have many other similar complexes around the country including Birdhill and another one situated on the M1 between Swords and Drogheda.

The 90-bedroom Maldron Hotel recently underwent a significant investment with an upgrade to their Leisure Centre and bedrooms among the areas that were renovated.

This new development will on increase the already thriving businesses in the Midway. It also gives a much needed jobs boost to the town as it is expected to create a number of full-time and part-time positions.
