Portlaoise Golf Club looking forward to another successful season

Spring is in the air and with the evenings getting longer and the days getting warmer, Portlaoise Golf Club are looking forward to another busy season.

This coming Sunday they are hosting their annual captain’s drive in to tee off the new season, a big day for the club and for this year’s captains – Tony Conlon and Teresa McEvoy.

Three members per team will take part in the competition, with over 20 teams taking part.

A reception and presentation of prizes will also take place in the clubhouse on Sunday evening.

The 18-hole golf course, in the heart of Portlaoise, is a real gem of a course – with over 2,000 trees and a number of water features which prove a test for any golfer.

The clubhouse is well known for its music nights on the first Friday of every month, and all are welcome to come along and join. Indeed the club pride themselves on a great atmosphere and their warm welcome.

President Paddy Ging is looking forward to welcoming new members and also hoping to have more young members coming to join.

“We have great competitions throughout the week – ladies day, open competitions and we have a really good course and a very pleasant clubhouse,” he said.

“We also have very good membership options available to men and women, and we also offer juvenile membership”.

Portlaoise Golf Club also offer gift vouchers which are available in the clubhouse all year round.

Vouchers can be used towards Membership fees for 2018.
