Vicarstown and Timahoe up and out early with St Patrick’s Day parades

They like to get things done good and early in Vicarstown and Timahoe and they were true to their word again this St Patrick’s Day.

The Vicarstown parade was one again the earliest in the county with members of the community gathering at the canal bridge at 9am and marching together in to 9.30am mass.

The underage section of the local Annanough GAA club was strongly represented as ever, as were the Youth Club and many other sectors of local community life.

Refreshments were served afterwards in the Vicarstown Community Hall.

Across the parish in Timahoe they also got going early with the crowd gathering at 10am to march to mass for 10.30am, led by the bagpipes and multi-talented Roghan Headen

Indeed a feature of the Timahoe and Vicarstown parades was that almost everyone at the parade was in the parade!
