Large crowd expected in Camross for annual ‘Run for the Hills’

The annual 'Run for the Hills' is the main fundraiser for Camross NS

They’re a great crowd in Camross for organising and supporting local community events and that will be evident again this Sunday morning when Camross NS Parents Council hold their 5th annual ‘Run For The Hills’ 5K Family Fun Run.

The run takes place in Camross village and registration starts at 11am and the fun run will kick off at 12.30pm. Adult entry is €10 and kids are free.

There will be refreshments served in the hall straight after the run with raffle taking place and free bouncy castle for the kids too.

“We are a very hardworking Parents Council who support a really fantastic school and our annual Run For The Hills 5K is our main fundraiser each year to provide much needed resources for the pupils & staff of Camross NS,” said Geraldine O’Neill from Camross NS Parents Council.

“Not only was our school awarded our first Active Flag in 2017 but we are also a HSE Health Promoting School too.

“This means that while the pupils of Camross NS are involved in a wide range of physical activities such as hurling, camogie, soccer, swimming, running and cycling to name a few they are also working on improving both the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our whole school community.

“Our annual 5k is a great way to fundraise for our school and also involve our wider community in the promotion of a healthy lifestyle while also enjoying a great family day out.”
