In Pictures: Portlaoise CBS make donation to the ISPCA

Portlaoise CBS students have showed their charitable side by donating money they raised to the Irish Society of Prevention to the Cruelty of Animals (ISPCA).

A second year CSPE class in the Portlaoise boys school, decided to hold a bake sale, where the students discovered their cooking skills.

From the money they earned, the class then decided to donate the sum of over €90 to the ISPCA.

As a part of the donation, the ISPCA invited the class to their animal shelter in Callan, where the students were introduced to some of the animals in the shelter.

The shelter’s animal welfare officer, Ronan, told the students some of the stories behind the animals in the shelter, before informing them of the animal welfare legislation.

The students’ teacher Ms Buckley said that the students showed great initiative to make the project a success and it was great that a charity benefited from their efforts.
