New pharmacy opens for business in Rathdowney

A new pharmacy will open for business in Rathdowney today – in the unit adjacent to Breslin’s SuperValu and the Post Office in the town.

The premises was previously occupied by Frawley’s Pharmacy but has been vacant for the past couple of years.

Clarke’s Care Plus Pharmacy is owned by Elaine Clarke, who will be the managing pharmacist.

The young pharmacist has years of experience in the industry with her most recent post in the O’Rourke’s All Care pharmacy in Monasterevin in Kildare.

Work has been underway for the last couple of months stocking and fitting out the unit. The new shop is set to create a number of new full-time and part-time jobs.

Care Plus Pharmacy is “the fastest growing consumer retail brand in the independent pharmacy sector in Ireland”.

It brings the number of pharmacies in the town to two. Flynn’s Medical Hall is based on the town’s Main Street.
