TV show is looking for young Laois adults living with their parents

If you are a young adult in Laois still living at home with your parents, then the producers of RTE’s This Crowded House want to hear from you.

TV production company, Indiepics is particularly keen to talk to people from Laois.

The show helps adults who are still living at home to move out and find a place of their own.

Moira Lawson production co-ordinator with Indiepics explained: “We tend to get people from the bigger cities first but we want to get a varied story. So we are giving a call out to find people from Laois”.

She said they focus on young people living at home who may wish to move out, or their parents may want them to move out.

“They may not be able to do so, because the property market is so difficult at the moment,” she said.

She said the participants on the show get many benefits through their participation.

Expert

Contributors will be given expert advice from highly regarded financial planner Eoin McGee and a team of researchers and advisors will help explore all of the available housing options.

“They can help them to plan to rent, purchase or whatever,” Ms Lawson said.

“By the end of the show we hopefully have them set up and ready to move out,” she said.

It is estimated that one in four adults aged between 25 and 34 living at home, don’t want to do so.

Last year, Presenter Brendan Courtney – with the help of top financial and property experts – helped 8 families with adult children living at home move out, or get on the right financial path to independence.

You can get in touch with them at crowdedhouse@indiepics.ie or by calling 017088181.
