Two Glamorous Knights: Fashion verdicts from Royal Wedding

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was held in Saint George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

Like most people we were obsessed with the royal wedding, and it didn’t disappoint. It really was like something out of a fairytale.

Unfortunately we did not get an invite, but that gave us the opportunity to style spot from the luxury of our living rooms as did most.

So in getting into the sprit of the day, we broke out the champagne to celebrate the occasion as it would be rude not to.

All eyes were on the new bride Meghan Markle, as she entered wearing a dramatic bridal gown made by British designer Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. Meghan’s first dress was more of a traditional bridal gown, full skirted with boat-neck detail.

The veil was more than 16 feet long and draped beautifully over the steps of Windsor Castle grounds. It was both timeless and elegant.

Meghan wowed us in her second dress, as she stepped out in a slinky halter-neck full length gown designed by Stella McCartney.

This was definitely a Bond girl moment as she left for there reception in a jaguar. The couple were both modern and chic and we wish this royal couple the best in the future.

Our Five Best Dressed

Amal Clooney
The international human rights lawyer showed up wearing a mustard yellow custom made dress, designed by Stella McCartney. We loved this look, for us she was a ray of sunshine on the day.

Amal stuck to the dress code wearing an over the knee length dress, with a trail that draped to the ground which added a sense of drama to the overall look. She accessorised with a matching wide brimmed hat, clutch bag and metallic heels. This was an overall winner for us.

David Beckham
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the ever handsome David Beckham, who showed up looking very dapper indeed.

Wearing a black suit, grey waistcoat, silk satin tie and pocket square. His grooming is impeccable and for us he was perfection from head to toe.

Lady Kitty Spencer
Lady Kitty Spencer – cousin of Prince Harry – arrived wearing Dolce & Gabbana and Philip Treacy fascinator. She wore an A-line skirt in deep green with floral detail. We loved the colour coordination of the dress and shoe colour.

There was something so timeless and vintage about her hair and makeup. The overall look was old Hollywood, very Grace Kelly. This is a 10/10 for us and she blew us away with her elegance and beauty.

Kate Middleton
Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton looked elegant and classy wearing a pale yellow coat designed by Alexander McQueen. Kate has worn this outfit multiple times before, but we loved that she changed it up with different hats and accessories.

Kate opted for a soft yellow hat designed by Philip Treacy and shoes by Jimmy Choo. Her decision to re-wear a style strikes us as a down-to-earth move and we love her all the more for it.

Abigail Spencer
How gorgeous is Meghan’s Suits co-star and friend Abigail Spencer? Abigail turned up wearing an Alessandra Rich navy polka dot dress, a crystal buckle belt with a matching fascinator.

For us she stood out in her vintage style and we were sensing granny chic vibes. It was something a little different and we love it.

We hope you all enjoyed the wedding as much as we did, and that it gave you plenty of inspiration for that perfect outfit for a wedding, ladies day or event.

And remember, “Every once in a while in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale.”
