The game wasn’t a classic but Laois supporters don’t mind that too much as they look forward to a first Leinster final in 11 years.
It was a very enjoyable day in Croke Park on Sunday as the glorious weather combined with a championship win over our neighbours ensured Laois supporters were in high spirits.
But the men at the centre of it all – the players and management – can reflect on a job well done.
It was a tough game but Laois did what they had to get around Carlow’s defensive system, winning in the end by 0-12 to 0-8.
The black mark on the day was the horrific head injury picked up by captain Stephen Attride, one that will see him ruled out of the Leinster final.
While our photographer Julie Anne Miller got a range of brilliant photos of Laois supporters outside the ground, the incredibly talented team at Sportsfile were on duty for the match itself.
And they captured an amount of brilliant photos. From the Laois team standing for the minute’s silence for Evan O’Carroll’s father Michael, who passed away during the week, to a selection of quality action photos, to the celebrations afterwards, they barely missed a second of the action.
We’ve picked out some of the best of those images, that help bring a good day to life.
