Laois Ladies footballer nominated for WGPA Player of the Month

A Laois Ladies footballer has been nominated for the Women’s Gaelic Player Association’s Player of the Month.

Emma Lawlor, who plays for St Paul’s and both Laois minor and intermediate teams, received the nomination today.

Emma scored a magnificent one goal and three points in corner forward during Laois’s recent Leinster final victory over Wicklow.

She also captained the Laois minor side to Leinster final glory when they overcame Wexford in May, with Emma leading by example and scoring 1-6 on the day.

The Emo native is still a student in Scoil Chríost Rí, and tasted even more Leinster final success when the defeated Loreto Wexford to become Leinster schools’ senior football champions.

How to vote

The winner of the Player of the Month will be chosen by public vote.

Emma goes up against Donegal’s Yvonne Bonner and Melissa Duggan from Cork for the Player of the Month award.
