Laois GAA Golf Classic set to tee off tomorrow

Laois GAA’s Annual Golf Classic begins tomorrow, Friday July 6.

The event takes place in Portarlington Golf Club, and members of the public and panelists from both the Laois hurling and football teams will be in attendance.

Laois footballers and hurlers will take to the course, hanging up their boots for golf shoes, to determine who the best Laois man and woman is on the greens.

The four man scramble including lunch costs €200, with great prizes for winners on the day.

Laois PRO Pat O’Sullivan has said: “There are still a couple of slots on the time sheet available.

“It promises to be a great day. Contact Chairman Peter O Neil if you would like to enter a team or sponsor a green.”

The format is a Champagne scramble. Teams must pick the best drive and all four then play from there.

On Par 3s, all four must play their own balls. Teams must use two drives per player excluding Par 3s. Two scores to count on each hole.
