In Pictures: Great turnout as Clonaslee Show returns after one-year absence

The Clonaslee Show is one of the longest-running agricultural shows around and after an enforced absence last year due to heavy rainfall, it returned this year with a big event.

Running almost 70 years, the family-friendly show was on Sunday with large crowds attending

The Belgian Blue Pedigree Bull and Gain dog food All-Ireland championships took place as well as a number of non-agricultural activities.

Bouncing castles, face painting, balloon modelling, bakery competitions and carnival rides ensure a perfect day for all the family. Who needs the Galway Races when you could be in with a chance of winning ‘Most Suitably Dressed Lady’ on the day?

Rock on Paddy was MC for the day and The Buckleys provided live music for crowds of all ages.

The Clonaslee Show has gone from strength to strength from its conception, halting on only a couple of occasions – once for foot and mouth and then last year’s deluge.

Our photographer Julie Anne Miller was on hand to get a selection of images.
