The motorway outside Portlaoise is closed this evening following an ‘incident’.
An eye witness has contacted LaoisToday and says that a number of gardai and fire brigades are on the scene.
AA Roadwatch is reporting that traffic is being diverted.
They say: “The M7 is closed until further notice northbound at J18 Portlaoise West as emergency services deal with an incident.
“Gardai are diverting traffic off the motorway at J18 and back on at J16 Portlaoise East.”
