Cast members in rehearsal for the peformance at the weekend

The Little Bog Theatre are back and ready to put on a bigger and better show than ever before… and they’re looking for new members to help them do it.

Little Bog Theatre, based in The Heath, put on three sold-out shows in the maiden performance last March and are getting set for their upcoming production next Spring.

This Tuesday November 20, they are hosting an AGM to decide on what show they will perform, and are currently deciding on three plays.

On Tuesday November 27, Little Bog Theatre are holding a ‘Meet and Greet’ night for new and current members.

“It’s a great outlet for people,” said cast member and committee secretary Seamus Mulhare. “It’s great for people who are into the arts and a great social outlet.”

is set at a rural country fair, and is about the gossip involved and how that can get out of hand”.

The local theatre was formed just before Christmas 2017 and boasts a current 10-strong cast for their production.

“It all came about when Michael Fahey, who has years of experience in theatre, rang me up and asked would I be interested in getting it up and running. We put an advert in the Portlaoise Link Up and got a great response to it,” Seamus said previously to LaoisToday.

Michael is now chairperson of the theatre group.

Seamus also said that the group are hoping to ‘spread their wings’ and hopefully perform a two-act play in their upcoming production.

It appears that many locals and those from further afield have very much been bitten by the acting bug and we’re sure great things are going to come from this group.
