Warm welcome for social housing in Stradbally

Local Councillor Tom Mulhall has welcomed the announcement of €1.2m funding to Laois County Council for the provision of six new social homes at The Orchard, Stradbally, Co. Laois.

Speaking this morning, the Fine Gael councillor stated:

“Having previously discussed the project with local TD and Minister for Justice & Equality, Charlie Flanagan, I am delighted that approval in principle has been granted for the provision of six new social homes housing units under the Department of Housing Capital Construction Scheme.

“The provision of these six new homes in Stradbally is a boost for the village and surrounding area and will provide much needed housing to families in need.

“The total investment in the project is €1,296,983 which is a significant investment.

“Units will consist of four x 3-bedroom houses and two 4-bed houses.

“This is really good news. Furthermore it will provide Laois with a legacy of improved housing stock for those who are unable to provide for themselves.”
