Memorable characters and events will be celebrated in a special book recalling the history of a rural Laois community this weekend.
The Pike of Rushall historical review will be launched in the ICA hall, Castletown this Friday 14 December at 8pm.
Heritage Council chairman Michael Parsons is attending the launch of the fascinating book.
This contains many articles on events, characters and important people from the area who left their mark on history.
The historical review is produced by the Pike of Rushall Heritage Group, which is chaired by Batt Lynch.
Refreshments will be served after the launch and all are welcome.
It promises to be a great night.
