Ann Grincell, “Spring Gardens” Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died 17th December 2018 (peacefully), at the home of her sister Madelene Crowley. Deeply regretted by her brother Jim, sister Madelene, nephews, niece, grandnephews, grandniece, relatives, neighbours, and may friends.

Reposing at the home of her sister Madelene at (Cappakeel, Emo) on Tuesday 18th December, from 2pm with rosary at 8pm. Funeral arriving for Requiem Mass at 2.30pm in St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath on Wednesday, 19th December, followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

Ita Gaughan (née Troy)
Shankill, Dublin / Clonaslee, Laois

Ita Gaughan (née Troy) of Shankill, Co. Dublin and formerly of Clonaslee, Co. Laois, passed away peacefully in her 96th year on Monday, 17th December, 2018 at Roseville Nursing Home, Bray, beloved wife of the late Paddy and loving mother of the late Noel; sadly missed by her children Eamon, Brian, Marie, Kevin and sister Anna together with their families, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray on Thursday evening, 20th December, from 7.30pm to 9.00pm with prayers at 8.30pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, 21st December at 12.00noon in St. Anne’s Church, Shankill followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

May she rest in peace.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Roseleen. Much loved brother of Thomas, John, Michael, Agnes (Gleeson) and Margaret (Mitchel). Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home on Tuesday with rosary recital on Tuesday evening at 8:00. Removal on Wednesday morning at 9:00am to arrive at Ss Peter & Paul’s Church for 10:00am requiem mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter & Paul’s Cemetery

Killeen, Mountmellick, Laois

Brigid Delaney, Killeen, Mountmellick, Co Laois, died 15th December 2018, (peacefully) at home, surrounded by her family. Much loved daughter of Frank and Agnes and sister of Eamonn, John, Frank, Mona and Terry. Brigid will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbours and a large circle of friends. Reposing in Moloney’s Funeral Home, Mountmellick, on Monday evening from 5pm, with recital of the rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon in St. Paul’s Church, Emo, burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Emo.

Georgina Vanston (née Martyn)
Redcastle, Mountrath, Laois

Georgina Vanston (neé Martyn), Died 16th December 2018 (peacefully) in her 97th year, in the loving tender care of staff at Brookhaven, Nursing Home, Ballyragget, predeceased by her husband George, deeply regretted by her daughters Sylvia and Olive, son Harry, sister Alice, sons-in-law William and Lionel, daughter-in-law Mary, grandchildren, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget, on Monday evening from 7 o’clock with prayers at 8 o’clock. Funeral arriving on Tuesday to St. Peter’s Church Mountrath, for Funeral Service at 2.30 o’clock, followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.

Carmel Bracken
Craydon Court, Portlaoise, Laois

Bracken (nee Lewis) Craydon Court and late of Borris Rd, Portlaoise, Dec. 15th 2018, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Carmel, beloved wife of the late Tommy and dearly loved mam to Marti and Tommy. Deeply regretted by her loving family, brother Ted, sisters-in-law, Rose, Patricia, Rita and Bibi, daughter-in-law Mari, cherished grandchildren Mark and Eve, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at her residence from 5 pm on Sunday evening with rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Monday morning to SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, to arrive for 11.30 Requiem Mass. Interment will follow afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Edmund Handcock
Formerly of Middlemount House, Rathdowney, Laois

Edmund Handcock died at St. Andrew’s Hospice, Grimsby, UK. Sadly missed by his sons John and Brian, brothers John, Bertie and Reggie daughter-in-law, grandchildren, extended family, relatives and friends. Cremation Service to take place on December 28th in Grimsby.

John Doheny, Birmingham, England, and late of Fr. O’Connor Crescent, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died 9th December 2018 ( unexpectedly). Deeply regretted by his parents Jackie and Margaret, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7.0’clock, with Rosary at 9.0’clock. Removal on Wednesday morning, to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath, for Funeral Mass at 11.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.
