There were five games tonight between Division 1B and Division 2 of the football leagues.

Arles-Killeen moved up to third spot in Division 1B as they inflicted a seventh straight defeat upon St Joseph’s while there were a few surprise results in Division 2.

Portarlington went into the evening in second spot in the table but fell to a surprise defeat to Annanough who won for just the second time.

Former manager Colin Miller bagged a hat-trick while teenager Damien McCaul helped himself to 1-7 as they ran out convincing eight point winners.

Portarlington’s demise left the door open for Clonaslee to move into second place and they took it thanks to a four point win over Barrowhouse.

Niall Corbet and Ryan Kilroe grabbed a goal each while teenagers Paddy Hyland and Bob Downey also scored freely.

In the remaining game, Crettyard moved out of the relegation zone following a seven point win over Timahoe.
