No-one elected on first count in Borris-in-Ossory/Mountmellick area

No-one has been elected on the first count to the Borris-in-Ossory/Mountmellick Municipal area.

The quota was 1,704 votes. James Kelly was the highest to reach this figure with 1,517, followed by Paddy Bracken with 1,414 votes.

As no-one reached the quota, there is no surplus votes to be given. Now, they will distribute the lowest number of votes, 192, belonging to Ger Hogan.

The total electorate for the area is 20,704. The total number of people who voted was 12,095.

168 of these votes were spoiled or invalid, so the valid poll was 11,927. These means that there was a voter turnout of 58.4 percent.
