The Laois senior hurlers have their final Round Robin game in the Joe McDonagh Cup on Saturday but Eddie Brennan’s men have already secured their place in the final.
Laois did so by defeating Kerry last weekend and they cannot be caught regardless of what happens in the game with Westmeath this weekend.
Westmeath on the other hand have plenty to play for as, while they are in pole position, they could lose out if they are defeated by Laois and some other results go their way.
If Kerry defeat Offaly and Westmeath lose to Laois by around 20 points, the Kingdom or Antrim could end up in the final against Laois.
However, that seems rather unlikely and the most likely outcome is that Westmeath will play Laois again in Croke Park on June 30.
Ahead of all that, the Laois hurlers will hold a Meet and Greet session at 8pm on Monday June 17.
Games Development Manager Mike Henchy said: “The senior hurling panel will be holding a meet and greet night for all the children in the county on Monday.
“We hope that all of our clubs will let their members know about this as it will be a special occasion.
“It will be a great opportunity for the children to get pictures and have autographs signed.”
