The Laois Ladies have a big game this weekend as they face Limerick in the All-Ireland Intermediate relegation final.
Given the potential in this young group of players, it would be disappointing to see them drop down into the junior ranks.
Although they were relegated from Division 2 of the league, they weren’t far behind their opposition in any of the games.
The Laois Ladies were drawn in a tough group with Wexford and Clare.
Laois started their All-Ireland campaign against Clare, a game which was played in O’Moore Park. Clare won 4-13 to 1-12, the scoreline doesn’t do the girls any justice as it was a highly contested affair.
In their next game against Wexford, the girls performed immensely and only lost out by a single point. Wexford winning 3-5 to 1-10.
The girls finished bottom of their three team group and will now face Limerick in a relegation final.
Limerick are the regaining junior champions, so it promises to be a good game.
The game is on Sunday, August 11 in Cahir, Tipperary with throw-in at 2.00pm.
The losers of this game will play junior football next year.
