Tributes paid as well-known Laois GAA administrator set to leave role

Tomas Moore

Laois GAA chairman Peter O’Neill led the tributes as a well-known staff member is set to depart his role in the coming weeks.

Park-Ratheniska’s Tomas Moore will move on from his GAA administrator job in the coming weeks.

Tomas has spent the past decade at the coalface of GAA in Laois – working in the office and liasing with referees for matches.

Speaking at Monday night’s GAA Convention about Tomas, Peter O’Neill said: “Tomas Moore will be leaving us in the coming weeks after more than eight years as an administrator.

“His love and his passion for Laois is simply unparalleled and he will be a huge loss to our county.

“He has been front of house for a number of years where he dealt daily with all our clubs and officials.

“He sometimes took the brunt of club’s frustrations and I would remind people that no form of abuse will be tolerated.”

Delegates gave Tomas a strong round of applause and we here at LaoisToday wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
