Laois mother launches plea to find missing son

A Laois mother has launched a plea to locate her son who is missing.

Helvijs Lejiņš, who is originally from Latvia but living in Portlaoise, was last seen at his home at Laurel Drive, Portlaoise, on Thursday January 16.

He is described as being approximately 6 foot 1 inches in height with a slim build, blue/grey eyes and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black tracksuit pants, black/grey runners and carrying 118/’20.a grey backpack. Gardaí and Helvijs’s family are concerned for his welfare.

It is believed Helvijs may be in the Dublin area. Anyone who may have seen Helvijs or has information on his whereabouts are asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 -8674100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Helvijs’ mother Evita Dica, who also lives in Portlaoise, has taken to Facebook in a bid to bring her son home.

According to Evita, Helvijs’ phone was activated between 3.30pm and 4pm on Moore Street in Dublin on Saturday.

She said: “If someone sees my son Helvijs can they please let me know.

“He is missing since early Friday morning.

“Just got news, police said his phone was activated on Moores street yesterday (Saturday) in Dublin at sometime between 3.30 and 4 o’clock.”
